Grand Forks Teen Seriously Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — A 15-year-old motorcycle rider suffered significant injuries after a crash Saturday morning in Grand Forks.

The collision happened October 3 on South Washington Street.

Grand Forks Police were dispatched to the 4400 block around 10:06 a.m.

Motorcycle Strikes Stopped SUV

According to police, the teenager was driving a 2025 Honda NVA110.

He was traveling north on South Washington Street before the collision.

Police said the motorcycle struck the rear of a 2022 Ford Explorer.

The Explorer was stopped at a red light when it was hit.

A 35-year-old Grand Forks woman was driving the SUV.

Police did not report that she was injured.

The 15-year-old suffered significant injuries to his lower body, according to police.

Authorities said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

An ambulance transported him from the scene to Altru Hospital.

The full extent of his injuries was unknown when police released information about the crash.

Authorities did not publicly identify the teenager.

The crash prompted a temporary road closure while investigators worked at the scene.

Northbound South Washington Street was blocked between 46th Avenue South and 44th Avenue South.

Members of the Grand Forks Police Department’s UAS Team responded to assist.

The department’s CART team also helped with the investigation.

Police did not immediately announce how long the roadway remained closed.

Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Police have not announced whether any citations will be issued.

No additional details about the teenager’s medical condition were immediately available.
