Woman from Austin Injured in Deer Collision in Windom Township

Windom Township Deer Crash Injures Austin Woman

Windom Township (trfnews.i234.me) — An Austin woman was injured Sunday night after her car struck a deer on Interstate 90.

The crash happened at about 9:12 p.m. on September 13, 2026. It occurred westbound near milepost 186 in Mower County.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the driver as 30-year-old Yvette Moyeda of Austin.

Car Strikes Deer On Interstate 90

According to the State Patrol, Moyeda was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger west on Interstate 90.

The Charger collided with a deer while traveling through Windom Township.

The road was dry when the crash occurred. No alcohol use was suspected, according to the crash report.

Moyeda was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The vehicle’s airbag did not deploy.

The State Patrol listed her injuries as non-life-threatening.

Driver Taken To Austin Hospital

Mayo Ambulance responded to the scene following the collision.

Moyeda was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for medical care.

Additional details about her injuries were not included in the State Patrol report.

The crash was classified as an injury incident. One vehicle was involved.
